Introducing the Sensing Data Utilization Workshop [ ASKA MARKET NEWS, October 2025, No. 368]

New Data Utilization Methods Offered by Aska Company [The Sensing Data Utilization Workshop]

Aska Company has been hosting various seminars since 2016.
While we continuously upgrade the content of these seminars, we are now introducing a newly offered workshop.

What Exactly is Sensing??

Sensing is a technology that uses sensors to detect surrounding information—such as temperature, light, or motion—and visualize it as data.
For example, when your smartphone detects a tilt and rotates the screen, or when a smartwatch measures your heart rate, those are both examples of sensing.
Recently, sensing has been gaining attention as its application spreads across various fields, including increasing efficiency in factories, predicting harvests in agriculture, and managing health in medicine.
The Sensing Workshop will provide you with methods for acquiring and utilizing this sensing data, and show you the new value that can be generated from it.

Sensing the Factory to Cut Wasted Electricity?!

Aska Company has installed sensors throughout its factory to collect data.
By utilizing this data, we have achieved various sensing initiatives, such as eliminating wasted electricity and promoting energy savings.
These examples are currently introduced as the "Sensing Case Studies" segment in a select theoretical lecture within some of our seminars, and they have generated a great deal of interest from many participants.
As a next step for those who have attended that seminar, we are now launching a Sensing Workshop focused specifically on your company's own problems and challenges.

Introducing a Sensing Data Utilization Case Study!

Case Study 1: Over ¥3 Million in Annual Electricity Costs Cut Using Air Conditioner Current Value Data!

We monitored the current values of six air conditioning units in the factory and optimized their operation while maintaining the required environmental conditions.
This effort successfully reduced the actual operation time of the air conditioning units from a conventional average of six units down to the equivalent of just 1.5 units.
Furthermore, by applying this solution horizontally across multiple factories, we achieved an approximate 70% reduction in power consumption, leading to annual electricity savings of over ¥3 million yen.

Case Study 2: Preventing "3 Lines x 4 Hours" of Production Stoppage by Detecting Water Leakage in Mold Cooling Pipes!

We implemented a system to continuously monitor the current value of the cooling tower and notify the site when a change occurred.
On one occasion, an abnormal value was detected. Investigation revealed that water leakage in the piping was causing insufficient water supply to the cooling tower, which led to a drop in the pump's current value.
We were able to immediately switch the supply to city water, thereby maintaining production.

What is the Content of the "Workshop" that Differs from the Seminars?

When we first began utilizing sensing technology, we used the easily accessible Raspberry Pi to introduce IoT and conduct sensing within our factory.
Now, while continuing to utilize various data, we also use high-performance equipment to collect, analyze, and apply all types of data.
Unlike our previous private seminars, this workshop is a more practical, hands-on experience designed to deepen your skills and knowledge.
Based on your company's specific challenges, we will formulate hypotheses on how to acquire and analyze sensing data, and then explore methods for its utilization.
The workshop is structured so that you will ultimately work with our instructor, Taro Watanabe, to organize and gain a deep understanding of the sensing utilization solution, following our defined STEP framework.

The total training time is approximately 4 to 6 hours.
※It is typically completed in one day, but depending on the analysis required, it may be split across two days: one day on-site and one day remote.
We will acquire the data and take time for analysis on Day 1, and then determine the schedule for Day 2.

We encourage you to experience for yourself just how accessible sensing implementation really is!

Optional: "Sensing Implementation Support" to Assist with Sensor Installation

For those who participate in the workshop, we also offer the "Sensing Implementation Support" service.
This service provides hands-on assistance over several months, based on the Sensing Utilization Solution STEP.
It includes installing the Raspberry Pi and sensors, acquiring and analyzing data, and setting goals for your next step.
※This service is limited primarily to customers in the Kinki region. For on-site visits outside of the Kinki region, additional fees will apply.

Please check the Sensing Utilization Workshop webpage for more details.
