Uniaxial Strength Test [Z-Gauge]
Changes in applied force, such as pushing and pulling, are quantified.
It quantifies the "change in force" the rise of "push" and "pull" applied to the object by the movement of one axis.
It can quantify the peak value and the changes in force from the beginning to the end of the evaluation.
Since we can set the moving position and speed freely, irregular repetitive measurement is also possible.
Overview
Enabling numerical control of "sensory evaluation" and "repetitive testing," which have been difficult to evaluate until now.
The Z-Gauge, produced by the Aska Company, can perform a variety of measurements,
including repetitive strength tests and process tests up to fracture, by elevating and lowering the device on a single vertical axis.
Example: Cap fitting strength, film peeling strength, material tensile strength, material breaking strength, endurance strength, and other strength measurements.
High-precision control allows fine control of mechanical cylinder position, speed, and measurement accuracy.
We also propose fixturing jigs as needed.
All forces from start to end of measurement can be output numerically.
For example, it is possible to measure the moment when the pen barrel and cap are mated over the undercut. It is also possible to measure the entire process of how the undercut is loaded and finally mated.
In this measurement, we found that the stress before the maximum value is related to the sensuality of closing the cap.

Measurement Workflow
①Designing a jig that fits the individual workpiece to be measured, and fixing the workpiece in place.

Complex force changes are quantified by freely moving the two axes.
The biaxial strength test can reproduce various conditions by using two axes in the X-axis and Z-axis directions.
The test reproduces the movement of a human hand or a machine in two axes and measures the "change in force."
Overview
By simultaneously manipulating two axes in the X-axis and Z-axis directions, XG-Gauge mechanically reproduces the force, which is difficult to do with a single axis.
Complicated motion settings are possible, such as reproducing complex movements of a human arm or hand. We can also set the force of a complex machine.
Repeated measurements are also possible if you repeat the same motion mechanically.
The applied force is measured and can be output as a CSV file.

What is 50% Impact Fracture Energy?
S-Gauge evaluates fracture strength using the value of 50% impact fracture energy (J: joule).
50% fracture energy is a method of determining the value that when we apply a specific value of fracture energy to a container, it will crack about 50%.
Purpose
Under the same conditions, this value (J) can be used to compare the ease of fracture.
While there are physical property values for plastics at the raw material level, such as in Izod tests, this method is useful for product development and quality inspections because we can ecaluate the actual products.
Special jig for cup measurement
In this table, the falling energy of the weight is given to the object fixed by the jig. We raise the height when the judgment is "not destroyed" and lower when the result is "destroyed."
The table shows that the third and fourth times are the borderline between non-destructive and destructive, so the third and subsequent times are used in the calculation. The average of data from 10 or more times is usually the value of 50% impact fracture height.
How to find 50% impact fracture energy
◎The 50% impact fracture height is calculated by the following equation.

Easy visualization of measurement data with analysis software
JIS uses the above calculations, too. However, since they are hard and complicated, you can use the Excel spreadsheet provided with S-gauge to obtain the 50% impact fracture height and 50% fracture energy by simply entering the load and ✓-X judgment.
