A Workshop Focused on Sensing Know-How for Molding Factories
This workshop is designed to help you take that first step.
Based on the principle of "Three Realities" (San-Gen Shugi), the instructor will visit your actual factory site.
We will work with you to establish hypotheses on data acquisition and analysis methods tailored to your specific issues, and collaboratively develop concrete ways to utilize sensing data.
Come and realize that the hurdle to introducing sensing is much lower than you think!
Background on the Introduction of Our Company's Sensing Technology
We have been actively promoting the use of digital data in our molding processes through internally developed visualization applications:
・"MiS": A system for collecting and displaying molding process data (such as pressure and speed) originally held by the molding machines.
・"CiS": A support system for collecting and analyzing camera inspection data.
While these systems allowed us to actively utilize molding-related data, a variety of other equipment existed in the factory that was essential for operation, requiring constant monitoring.
However, the management of our factory infrastructure was reliant on analog methods. When a breakdown occurred, we couldn't determine when the anomaly started or why it happened.
We were ultimately forced to accept the manufacturer's conclusion of "age-related deterioration." Furthermore, when purchasing new equipment, we lacked objective data to inform our decisions, leaving us entirely dependent on the manufacturer's advice.
We recognized this situation not as the norm, but as a challenge.
We decided that "we must understand the detailed movements of each piece of equipment and achieve a state of predictive maintenance."
This led us to initiate our efforts in anomaly detection and predictive maintenance—the introduction of sensing technology.
What You Can Achieve at the Sensing Data Utilization Workshop
While our "Private Seminars" introduce use cases for sensing data, this workshop offers a more practical and hands-on opportunity to work with sensing.
We will follow our "Sensing Utilization Solution STEP" framework. Based on your specific challenges, we will form hypotheses on how to acquire and analyze data, and then collaboratively develop concrete strategies for utilizing that sensing data.

STEP The Step-by-Step Approach
Utilizing sensing data requires a phased, step-up approach.
We introduce a method that progresses through five steps.
However, it's crucial to understand that not every project needs to reach STEP 5: Maintenance (Predictive Maintenance). The key is to determine the scope of work based on your specific goals and issues.
You can start where you can and stop when you need to.
The "goal" doesn't have to be a single destination.
The most important thing is to take the first step.
About the Instructor: Taro Watanabe
The instructor, Taro Watanabe, belongs to the Energy Management Group (G) within the Head Office Production Division.
As the name Energy Management Group suggests, his role is to manage the company's energy.
This involves monitoring various types of energy—both direct and indirect—by using a variety of sensing devices to make them "visible."
He is responsible for the operation, implementation management, and analysis of this system.
Through his work, he has developed an operational method that monitors not just the production machinery but the entire factory as a whole.
He provides sensing technology expertise aimed at understanding the factory environment to ensure stable production.

Sensing Experience Program: Support from Challenge Discovery to Implementation
This is a workshop where we visit your company to help you identify and address your sensing challenges.
For customers who want to know not only about the sensing challenges but also how to implement the sensors, we offer courses that include a hands-on experience.
A: On-Site Workshop
Through an on-location situation analysis, we will collaboratively develop concrete methods for utilizing sensing data that are tailored to your specific issues.
This offer is primarily limited to customers in the Kinki region.
The total training time is approximately 4 to 6 hours, which may be split across two days (one day on-site and one day remote).
After simple data is acquired on the first day and we have time for analysis, the schedule for the second day will be determined.

For customers who wish to know how to proceed with implementation after the workshop, we offer a separate Implementation Support course for an additional fee.
This course provides assistance with installing the Raspberry Pi and sensors, data acquisition and analysis, setting goals for the next step, and creating an achievement report.
