Created Shrink-Wrap Processing Samples for the AS16 Hinge Cap [ASKA MARKET NEWS, July 2026, No. 377]

Background and Objectives: Venturing into "New Markets" with the AS16 Hinge Cap

Among Aska Company’s product lineup, the "AS16 Hinge Cap" has earned an excellent reputation for its compactness and user-friendliness.
To date, this product has built a solid track record of adoption primarily in the hair care, cosmetics, and toiletries sectors.
However, we faced a major hurdle in expanding further: the lack of a "tamper-evident function (virginity/unopened seal assurance)."
In recent packaging markets, particularly within the food industry, consumer awareness regarding food safety has risen dramatically.
It is no exaggeration to say that a mechanism guaranteeing that a product "has not been touched by anyone else" has now become an essential requirement.
Due to the absence of a tamper-evident feature, the AS16 Hinge Cap traditionally faced difficulties in being adopted for food applications.
To break through this current limitation, we have created samples of our hinge cap equipped with a tamper-evident function achieved through shrink-wrap processing.

What is the AS16 Hinge Cap? A Highly Customizable, One-Touch Cap

Here, we would like to reintroduce the key features of the core "AS16 Hinge Cap."
This product is a one-touch cap designed to be fitted and used with the AS16 Spout.
Its greatest strength lies in our ability to select and propose the ideal orifice design based on the viscosity of the contents and the specific usage scenario.

  • Orifice Diameter φ3 (Narrow Opening): Ideal for low-viscosity liquids, serums that need to be dispensed in small amounts, or liquid condiments.
  • Orifice Diameter φ8 (Wide Opening): Perfect for high-viscosity hair treatments, or thick sauces and dressings.
  • Discharge Control Valve: A specialized valve structure that allows users to control both dropping and standard dispensing simply by adjusting their "squeezing" force.

Thanks to these diverse variations, we believe the cap has immense potential for expanding beyond hair care into a wide range of "food and condiment" applications, including dressings, sauces, syrups, and other pasty processed foods.

The Role of Shrink-Wrap Processing: Making Safety Visible

The "shrink-wrap processing" we implemented this time is a packaging technology in which a heat-shrinkable film is placed over the cap and heated to tightly conform to the contours of the container.

The addition of this process brings a dramatic transformation to the product.

1. Tamper-Evident and Anti-Vandalism Protection

By applying a shrink film, the cap cannot be opened unless the film is torn.
As a result, consumers can determine at a glance that the product is a safe, unopened item.

2. Enabling Adoption for Food and Processed Products

In the food industry, ensuring unopened seal assurance is the absolute minimum requirement for product adoption.
By implementing shrink-wrap processing, we can now pitch the AS16 Hinge Cap to entirely new markets, such as condiments and processed food products.

Future Plans: Aiming for "Mass Production"

Currently, Aska Company is preparing for the distribution of these samples.
While this shrink-wrap processing initiative is starting with sample creation, we will actively consider full-scale mass production based on market needs and your valuable feedback.

  • "We want to test if it fits our own condiments."
  • "We want to check how easy it is to open once shrink-wrapped."
  • "We would like to know about the pricing and cost structure."

If you would like to request a sample or have an interest in this project, please feel free to contact our inquiry desk.
